DanceLink offers solo dance competitions as part of every Utah dance competition we organize. Solo dance competitions allow every dancer the opportunity to showcase his or her skills. All solo dance competitions are family friendly and require every dancer to choreograph and costume a dance routine that is appropriate for all ages.

Our Utah solo dance competitions include the following categories:

    • Jazz
    • Lyrical
    • Contemporary
    • Hip Hop
    • Ballet
    • Character
    • Open

Every dance category is divided into three categories to accommodate for age and level of experience:

  • Beginner: generally 2 years of training or less, most beginner dancers have not previously won a competition
  • Intermediate: 2-4 years of training, most intermediate dancers have won at least one beginner competition
  • Advanced: 4+ years of training, most advanced dancers have won more than one intermediate dance competition

DanceLink presents DanceLink Solo, Duet, Trio & Quad Competition!

Due to some medical issues the 2019 Competition Dates have been cancelled.

We apologize for any inconvenience and want to thank you for your understanding!

We will be back in 2020 so watch for those dates!

Thanks so much!!!

Categories may be combined with a similar style/age category to maintain enough to compete. This also applies to Duets & Trios.

Divisions: There are divisions for ages pre-school through college age. If there are less than 3 contestants they will be combined with another division. Any division with 6 or more will be divided.

The Beginning Division is for dancers who have never won a competition and are considered beginning dancers (usually 2 years or less training)
The Intermediate Division is for dancers that have won a competition in the beginning division and are considered intermediate dancers (usually 2 to 4 years training)
The Advanced Divsion is for dancers who have won a competition in the intermediate division (or more than once) and are considered advanced dancers (usually 4 or more years training)
Even if this is your 1st competition…….if you are an advanced dancer you must enter advanced and if you are an intermediate dancer you must enter intermediate!

Divisions are determined by the information you provide. Please be honest and correct with this information. Dancers entering the wrong division could be disqualified. Check with your teacher or choreographer if you are unsure what division to enter.

Awards: Solo Winners receive a large trophy, a gift and a tiara. Attendants, duet, trio and quad participants receive a smaller trophy. All contestants will place and receive a trophy at all competitions. An Overall Advanced Solo Winner will be awarded by each set of Judges in each lane.

Entry Deadline is February 1st 2019!

The entry fee is $99 for each solo entry. The entry fee is $65 for each dancer for the duet and trio entries. All late entries accepted will have a late fee penalty added to the regular entry fee for each dancer depending on the date entered (The closer to the competition the larger the late fee).
