Duet, Trio & Quad

DanceLink offers duet and trio competitions as part of all our Utah dance competitions. Duet and trio competitions allow groups of two or three dancers to compete and showcase their dancing skills. Each dancer must complete a separate registration before the competition. Each competition has set registration dates and late fees may apply after the deadline has passed.

Duet and trio competition include the following dance styles:

  •  Jazz
  • Lyrical
  • Contemporary
  • Hip Hop
  • Ballet
  • Character
  • Open

Every duet and trio competition is divided into three separate categories. These categories may be divided or combined depending on the number of registrations for each category and style:

  • Beginner: generally 2 years of training or less, most beginner dancers have not previously won a competition
  • Intermediate: 2-4 years of training, most intermediate dancers have won at least one beginner competition
  • Advanced: 4+ years of training, most advanced dancers have won more than one intermediate dance competition

Each dance duet or trio should register according to their level of experience.

DanceLink presents Utah DanceLink.net Solo, Duet & Trio Competition!

Due to some medical issues the 2019 Competition Dates have been cancelled.

We apologize for any inconvenience and want to thank you for your understanding!

We will be back in 2020 so watch for those dates!

Thanks so much!!!

Categories may be combined with a similar style/age category to maintain enough to compete. This also applies to Duets & Trios.

Divisions: There are divisions for ages pre-school through college age. If there are less than 3 contestants they will be combined with another division. Any division with 6 or more will be divided.

The Beginning Division is for dancers who have never won a competition and are considered beginning dancers (usually 2 years or less training)
The Intermediate Division is for dancers that have won a competition in the beginning division and are considered intermediate dancers (usually 2 to 4 years training)
The Advanced Divsion is for dancers who have won a competition in the intermediate division (or more than once) and are considered advanced dancers (usually 4 or more years training)
Even if this is your 1st competition…….if you are an advanced dancer you must enter advanced and if you are an intermediate dancer you must enter intermediate!

Divisions are determined by the information you provide. Please be honest and correct with this information. Dancers entering the wrong division could be disqualified. Check with your teacher or choreographer if you are unsure what division to enter.
